When searching the Richmond real estate market, you'll notice a wide range of homes to fit the needs of almost anyone. For those looking for a luxury home near the waterfront, there's an abundance of Richmond homes for sale that look like they've been plucked straight out of a luxury beachside community.
Single-family homes near Sandpiper Spit or the Richmond Yacht Club or Marina Bay will make you feel as though you're on vacation every day with the marina view. But at the same time, homes in these areas have all the luxuries of upscale homes big enough for large families and, in many cases, you won't have pay luxury-home prices.
That said, you don't have to purchase a large home to be near the water in Richmond. There are plenty of single-family detached homes, townhomes, and even good-sized condos very close to the water. In particular, the Shores at Marina Bay is a condo complex that offers spacious, bay front units starting in the $300,000s.
Of course, there are many other desirable neighborhoods in Richmond. This pleasant city has a number of appealing residential areas close to schools with clean, modest homes with a variety of designs perfect for first-time buyers and young families.
The most obvious pleasantry of the Richmond real estate market is its scenic inlets and bays. In many waterfront neighborhoods, you'll feel like you're in a quaint summer cottage town with public beaches, parks, and several walking and cycling trails near the shoreline. Sailing and boating are common activities off the shores of Richmond's many harbors and there are multiple boat ramps for the public to use. The Richmond Yacht Club is also a great amenity for those looking to enjoy the sailing lifestyle both on and off the water. Regardless of where you live in Richmond, you're never more than 10 minutes by car from one of the city's breathtaking shorelines.
However, you don't need to drive to get around Richmond sufficiently because the city has an extremely reliable public transportation system. As a result, the city's many environmentally-conscious residents choose the train as their preferred method of transportation. There are also more than a dozen bus lines that run in close proximity to all Richmond homes for sale, including 24-hour services along select lines. A ferry service at Marina Bay also takes passengers to and from the San Francisco Ferry Terminal Building with added service to Fisherman's Wharf on weekends and Giants Ballpark to catch a San Francisco Giants baseball game during the season.
There are no shortage of options for shopping near Richmond homes for sale either. The Hilltop Mall includes a Wal-Mart and several other big box department stores, the Macdonald 80 Shopping Center also has a number of large department stores, and the business district on 23rd Street has many Latino-oriented shops and restaurants.
